The Just Because thread was getting kind of full, so I decided to start a new thread, same theme.

First day of classes! And I threw up. Not a good day to get sick! Luckily, my good friend will be collecting any hand outs for me. I'm hoping I'll feel better by my afternoon class. I'm not excited for classes, but I HATE missing the first day of class. It's the worst.

I am excited for Fall, though. We're doing Steampunk again for Halloween, but this year we're finishing our costumes!

I'm on a serious (and possibly intervention-worthy) watermelon kick right now. There is a chance that in the last two weeks I may have consumed about 5 or 6 whole watermelons by now, lol

Ok, it's been officially proven! Let a,b,c and d be positive integers, ie ≥ 1. If ab=cd and a+b+c+d add up to an odd number, that number MUST be composite! I submitted a proof to the math forum I haven't gotten word back on that proof, but someone provided a proof of a more general phenomenon of which this is simply as special case!
This has implications for the theory of the distribution of the "n almost primes", for any n!

I have a chick living in my bathroom.
He couldn't make it out of his egg alone, and momma left him to die. I hatched him out and set up a brooder in the bathroom. Chances are he will not live because he was not strong enough to hatch himself. I just couldn't let him die in that egg. Hearing the little peeps inside and seeing a beak...yeah, I had to do it. He seems to be thriving for now...

Worst case scenario, he lives and I have a "weak" chicken in my flock. Who cares. I'm not a show breeder. I gave him a stuffed animal yak that he thinks is mom. Silly chicken. Chickens don't have horns!

Really crappy day, but cuddling the pups has improved my mood. I love that Brandy can be totally asleep, but if I look in her direction the very tip of her tail starts flicking furiously and she wakes up and launches herself at me. I think she's the most affectionate dog we've ever had.

Everyone is pregnant!
My two best friends are both expecting. One was planned, the other a surprise. The surprise is my college roommate and very best friend. We both planned on holding out till we were about 30. But, even with protection, somehow one slipped past the goalie and she just found out. She was devastated at first, and now is accepting. Pretty sure I'll be that way when it's time.
These are my first pregnant friends. It's surreal. We're all the same age and married with jobs, so it's not a bad situation at all. It's just...babies...children...teenagers...AH!
Anyone else feeling really old these days?

We're headed down to CT this weekend to see Tim's new nephew. Last night his brother called and asked us not to bring Saxon... The whole reason I took 3 days off of work to drive hundreds of miles south was so my family could see your new family member and your asking me to leave one of my family members home? It makes me want to say to them, "you can come up and visit us, but please don't bring the baby, babies are gross germ factories and I don't want it getting one of the pets sick." So it looks like Saxon will be staying at my parents' house while we visit with the baby, which means we won't be staying for more than an hour. I guess that's ok, though, because babies aren't interesting for more than an hour any way. If I see a single picture of the baby with an other family member's dog, I'm going to flip my lid because I know the only reason they don't want Saxon to meet the baby is because if his breed, but they're trying to claim that they aren't allowing any dogs around the baby. We'll see.
