Lebowski has been coughing since last night. Not wheezing, or reverse sneeze. Just these little short huff-coughs. Brook stuck his fingers down his throat to make sure nothing was stuck in there. He has no other symptoms. It's likely that he got into something that irritated his throat, because he loves to eat paper, trash, anything he can get his teeth on. Other than that, are there any other possibilities we should be worried about? If this continues another night we'll take him to the vet.

I would just wait it out a little longer, if it continues more than 24 hours, I'd say a trip to the vet is in order.

Friggen Rocky is always yacking too because he eats especially leaves and paper and plastic and string. HE will eat about anything. I too get concerned when the cough wont stop. Never had it go on more than 30 min or so though.

^ I don't know Michele. He was fine when I went to bed last night. He sleeps on the couch in the guest room. Brook worked an overnight last night, and got home around 4am. He's the one who told me this morning that Bowski was coughing. I took him out and he did his normal thing. I asked Brook if he had been drinking water normally, and Brook said he didn't know because they were both asleep. Every morning Bowski goes potty and then immediately crashes out on the couch again, so he did his normal thing. We keep fresh water in that room for him, but he doesn't typically drink much in the morning. He didn't touch it at all this morning, but that's not unusual. Brook will be home with him all day since he works evenings. Hopefully it just goes away.

Ugh, when it rains it pours. I didn't post about it, but we took Otis to the vet last Saturday for a recheck on an issue that we first noticed back in August. Otis has been losing weight, has chronic rash-like bumps on his chest and belly, and his coat has been dull and thinning. Vet did full blood panel, urinalysis, fecal, and aspirated the bumps back in August, and we did it all over again last weekend. He had lost 3 more pounds. So she did another blood draw and sent it out for even more tests. She's thinking mild thyroid.
Brook said that Bowski is still coughing, so I made a vet appointment for tomorrow. Three dogs in two weeks. Oy.

#damndogs Hope Otis is alright... kind of curious to hear those results. Bowski is hopefully just a fluke. They can't let Dharma get all the attention you know.

Hope all three are going to be fine.
Toma was diagnosed four years ago with Laryngeal Paralysis and her cough is quite different from a regular cough. It's like a gagging / choking cough.
Thankfully though, I keep her activities and exercise limited.
Never in all my years living with pit bulls , have I ever had a dog with this . My poor baby !!
I know you are going to take him to he vet if he is still couighing.
Please keep us posted.

Lebowski didn't cough at all after I got home last night, so I cancelled the vet appointment. My theory is that he was chewing his Nylabone, which is the only toy I allow him to have unsupervised, and he scraped off a big flake which irritated his throat. I found some little shavings on the couch in that room. He didn't even cough after playing outside last night, so I think he's fine. Thank goodness! We should have Otis' blood test results back next week. I'll let you guys know what we find. Thanks for your support everyone. I really can't say enough how very much I appreciate my RPBF friends. Don't know what I'd do without all of you.

Good news about Lebowski.
Fingers crossed Otis' results come back ok.
I think Melonie is right the dogs didn't want Dharma to get all the attention!
