Ditto. I got a call yesterday from police for a voluntary evacuation because I live in flood zone and of course our generator broke yesterday!! Hopefully power doesn't go out.

oh no michele you should get out if you are in a flood zone. the pond by me a few miles away has been sanded and hayed around the edges , all water and bread and milk is gone from the stores here, no batteries or radios at all, people are buying up everything possible for this storm, including bags of ice melt , shovels etc.. got all our patio stuff secured down too, lines for gas up here is crazy, quick chek has double lines for gas, and the Hess has no one there lol....... generators are sold out up here too. we got hit bad last year with the one storm so everyone up here is not messign around

Yeah that snowstorm last year was so unexpected. As is a late Oct hurricane. People are selling generators and supplies on craigslist for 2x their worth. It is Crazy. We have a generator, got our fuel and food already. I think I will start getting better with always having things ready. after 9/11 I was staying prepared then got lax about it. But it is so exhausting to do this over days prior to an impending storm. Im getting an evac pack put together for Rocky in a few as I have been meaning to have one for years. Months ago I made binders with our important documents which I will have placed ready to go with Rocky's stuff.

My son works at Woodbury Commons and since no transportation from the City I suppose they decided they may as well close. So that huge place is closed today. Even still I can imagine if there was transportation those crazy foreigners would be eating up the deals. Broken umbrellas strewn across the court yard. My husband went to work to get his electronics as the garage has flooded the last two storms. Irene much was lost.

Ugh, no one is in my office but we are still open. Email from CEO this morning: "Everything is closing down, schools are all closed, this storm is going to be bad, PLEASE take it seriously and stay safe. Oh yeah the office IS open."

its a state of emergency in nj- no business should be open as your not allowed to drive on the road... I can leave anytime I want. Only 3 of us are here. I dunno what the CEO was talkin about because he goes, "It's not a state of emergency so the office is open." Didn't Christie declare SOE like over a day ago???

Mary that really sucks. You should go home anyway. Tell them I said so.
Just got off the phone with my boss. His first words were, "Oh, forgot about you." He phoned and texted everyone but me that everyone should stay home. I'm surprised he knew my name, I've only been there 13 years.
