Hi all! We're expecting our second child in May, and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for us! Stella is a 11 month old female APBT, who gets along very well with our family (myself, husband, five year old daughter, and two cats). Well, she does "herd" the cats around the house a bit, but... Thing is, she's the baby. We brought her home and TRIED the crate thing, but she was the runt of the litter and so tiny, well, you know the rest. She wound up sleeping between me and my husband that night and stayed in the bed every night since! She is VERY attatched to me, since I was the one at home training her and feeding her. She follows me around the house and likes to nap when I do... I'm a little concerned for her feelings when the baby comes home. She is pretty generous in her heart, but even when I hold the cats she likes to "get in the mix" and put her chin on the cat's back or smoosh between us. I'm wondering if anyone has had a "baby" dog like this and then had a human baby, and how did you deal and not make the dog feel totally left out? By the way, Stella is a total sweetie, she also likes to lay AND play with our daughter....
