I personally couldn't be nice to that man, no matter how hard he was trying to atone. I personally don't think he can make up for what he's done, especially considering how nonchalant he's been about his behavior.
That being said, I think the rescue community as a whole should use the crap out of him to teach at-risk youth to make better decisions about dogs and dog fighting, in particular. I do not think that he will EVER impress anyone with his words, but he is an idol for young children in inner cities where dog fighting is rampant. If sending him to inner city schools and to talk to kids at risk for being involved in dog fighting can stop at least a few children from participating in such an awful and cruel activity..... I think we should take that opportunity.
He may never (can never) be able to atone for his actions, but that doesn't mean he can't stop some kids from making stupid decisions that land them in the position he's in now.

I am all for "using" him to talk to inner city kids esp. if it is helping! However, and maybe it is just me but I don't think you can teach empathy and compassion. hamptonroads.com/2013/02/michael-vick-speaks-students-virginia-beachIf you read the kids comments at least from my point of view you see the kids don't grasp the cruelty of what Vick did. They don't get this was not a bad hand Vick was dealt.

people keep forgetting.. it's a freaking MALINOIS. He got that particular breed for a reason, and the reason is NOT to give his children lessons in compassion.

Emily I posted a similar thing about it being a Malinois on the other Vick thread.
