This just in from the Humane Society of Southern Arizona:
This Saturday (Oct. 25) is the Second Annual Nationwide Pit Bull Awareness Day! Pit Bull Awareness Day has been created to educate, raise awareness, and promote positive Pit Bull image; as well as, shatter the exaggerated stereotypes of this smart, loyal, and loving breed. In honor of this very special day, and breed, the Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA) will be offering myth busting information about the breed as well as discounted adoption fees and free spay and neuter surgeries for Pit Bulls and Pit Bull mixes.
There is much disparaging misinformation spread about this breed. … However, Pit Bulls are actually very human-friendly, loyal and eager to please. In celebration of the breed and National Pit Bull Awareness Day, HSSA will be having adoption specials for Pit Bulls. Starting Wednesday (Oct. 22) to the end of the month all Pit Bulls, adults and puppies, will be only $50 to adopt. That’s almost 40 percent off the normal adoption fee! All adoptions include up-to-date vaccinations, a mirco-chip, sterilization surgery, a leash, and the first vet visit from the vet of your choice. What a steal for a new best friend!
And HSSA encourages everyone to come meet Jake; he’s our “Pit Bull Pick”! Jake is a one year old Pit Bull mix with lots of energy and love to give. As an employee favorite, Jake’s adoption will come with FREE in-house dog training from Al Rossomando of “Dogs 101” valued at $499!
On top of all this commotion, Friday Oct. 24. and Saturday the 25th, owners of pit bulls and pit bull mixes can get FREE spay and neuter surgeries! Thanks to Pima County and Animal Welfare Alliance of Southern Arizona (AWASA), you can take advantage of this amazing opportunity; just arrive at the HSSA Spay/Neuter Clinic, 3450 N. Kelvin Blvd. on Friday or Saturday morning. No appointment is necessary! Our clinic staff will be accepting patients on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 7:00 am. Space is limited to 30 patients a day, so be sure to arrive early! This life-saving surgery will not only improve the overall health of your dog, but also improve their behavior.
