In your experience or what you've heard with Parvo when is safe to bring a vaccinated pup in the home and yard after a dog with Parvo has been there?
A rescue pup I had a couple months ago passed due to Parvo. He said she was barely shedding the disease here... When is it safe to bring a pup or have pups here again?

The vets that I have talked to who deal in rescue and see Parvo often recommend anywhere between 6-12 months, depending on the age of the pup you're looking to bring in.

I asked my vet and he said we would already be in the clear. ? I cleaned everything Buttons (The Parvo pup) touched with bleach. and he said that right there would have taken care of most of it. And as for the yard, it would be gone by now.
Bella (Cocker Spaniel) is supposed to be bred this August and he said there is no reason not to.
Dont know how to feel about it! Every breeder or rescuer tells me to wait a year... But the vet said my house and yard would be Parvo free now. :/

Have you talked to any other veterinarian's to see what they suggest, or just the one?

I talked to the one who had Buttons in their care and my vet as well. Both are saying the same thing.
I didnt know dogs can 'shed' certain amounts of Parvo ?! I thought it was just there or it wasnt.
I guess the vet that had her in his care said she was shedding a very small volume of Parvo while in my care. That increased before her death (While at the vet).
I dont know what to think..... I NEVER want to see a dog in that condition again! Soo sad.

if other breeders and rescuers are telling you to wait a year then listen.. its always better to be safe then sorry, especially when it comes to parvo.

Well, here's the thing. I want to trust the vet. Maybe it's true she was shedding very small amounts of the virus. But what if you inadvertently bring home a pup that has a weakened immune system and is more susceptible to the disease? Some dogs just get sick more easily than others, and even if there is a very small amount of Parvo in the environment, I personally wouldn't risk it.
