Hi, I haven't been active on here for quite some time. I'm starting to research some "Just in Case" options for my two beloved doggies. My husband has become disabled. It's a physical issue he may be able to recover from enough to return to work. Then again he may not...even if I can find another two or three more jobs I can't come close to making the taxes where we live now. Even if he gets full disability and I have two or three more jobs I don't know if I can come close to earning enough for the cost of living around here. What I'm trying to research in the meantime is possible temporary foster care for the dogs.
Sophie is about eight and considered American Staffordshire, Callie is about two and considered American Bulldog. We've had Sophie many years and Callie for one. They have both peacefully lived with cats and are relaxed around children. They do very well together as well. Sophie is on the timid side and I think Callie makes her feel more confident. She is older and a bit bigger and considers him almost her puppy. They both follow basic commands and have perfect potty habits. If anyone has feedback on finding care for them until we can re-establish ourselves...if it goes that far...paws crossed it doesn't...

I'm not really sure what your question is? You are looking for a foster now? Or you want foster resources? It's going to be really hard to line up a "Maybe" foster which will hold two of your dogs for an indefinite period of time. I'm just telling you this so maybe you can consider other options.

Fureverywhere, I'm so sorry that your family is experiencing these hardships. I agree with Mary that trying to line up a "just in case" temp foster would probably be very difficult. I understand that you're trying to plan for a worst case scenario. Do you have any friends or family that would be able to take even one of the dogs temporarily?

Thank you, I realize now after the initial panic subsided that yes someone would be more than happy to care for Sophie if need be and Callie we can work around ourselves. My husbands making the beginning progress on rehabbing himself, so with some prayers and me getting at least one more job, we might be okay...paws crossed
