Has anyone ever used a soap bar on their dogs? I'm going to be making one this weekend and wanted to get some input if you've used one.
I've researched what I think is a good recipe and I'm eager to try!

I don't have any feedback on the dog soap, but the website is looking really nice, and I love the About Us section!

It's getting there.
I'm a bumbling idiot when it comes to website stuff. Soap making = piece of cake. Website design = rocket science.

Never used dog soap so no experience to share sorry to say.
I do love your new site and of course your soap is the only bar soap I use!! Always look forward to new scents!

Last summer when Saxon had his bumpy allergy skin we stopped at a farmer's market where there was a woman selling goat's milk soap. When she saw Saxon she gave us a bar of her "dog soap" for free. I think it really helped with his skin and he smelled fantastic. I don't remember the name of the soapmakers and I don't remember what was in it, unfortunately! I think it had lavender? I don't know, but I do know that it was awesome and I would totally use it again!

I've never seen a dog soap before, but I would give it a shot with Chubby if it will help ease his itchies.
I know when my rottie would get these oozing sores on her chest , all the vet did was give her lots and lots of antibiotics that would make them dry up for a little bit and then ooze again. I was only 12 when we got her so I didn't really know much (plus, you know you figure the vet has absolute authority). Anywho, my grandma in Dominican Republic when over some soaps and told us to try those. They worked beautifully. No more oozing sores and the skin started to heal up. I think they had calamine in it (can't be sure at all, so long ago). We also used another soap from DR (one that apparently they use for everything from washing clothes, to personal care, to scrubbing floors, to washing your hair...etc) and that worked really well on keep my rottie's skin clean and calm.
I'll be down to see what you come up with.

I bought some Neem oil and some Lavender, Lemon, and Citronella essential oils (all dog safe!) for the doggy soap. Lots of dog soaps have Tea Tree, though I read some conflicting reports on TT and toxicity to dogs so I'm going to leave it out.
It most likely won't be a salt bar because I can't find anything regarding salt bars on dog skin. I don't think it'd be bad necessarily, but I want to stick with what works for most people's pets and not risk it for my first batch.

Yeah I've heard from a couple of customers that Tea Tree Oil caused reactions with their dogs' skin. Good idea to leave it out. I think Lavender, Lemon and Citronella are all good ideas. Plus with Lemon and Citronella in the soap it might even repel some bugs, which people love.

Yeah, with the neem oil and those EOs, it should repel fleas fairly well. Going to add oatmeal, too, because that's always great for skin.

I got a bar soap for Lucy in a secret swap box on another forum because she had both food and flea allergies and had itches. I don't think I got around to using it on her because she had that thick double coat and we hear her mom might have been mixed with a border collie. Lucy was VERY smart and did not enjoy bath time, so bath time involved taking 45 minutes just to get her wet enough to soap up while she's constantly trying to trip me and as soon as the bath was over, she headed for the nearest dirt pile to roll around in and just shot me this spiteful look when she was done. I started using waterless shampoo on her
I just went and looked at the bar and it doesn't have ingredients listed, just said it has neem oil. Both Matilda and George are short haired dogs and I would love to buy some of your soap for them once you get it listed. Especially since we are in the middle of flea hell down here at the minute
