We were playing "keep the ball away from mum" in the house and Saxon smacked into the coffee table. It made a pretty loud smack, but I didn't think much of it because he just kept running as if it were a minor annoyance. After another 15 minutes or so he plopped down on the floor with a Saxon-dog smile on his face. I laid down in front of him looking at his sweet face and I noticed that he was bleeding out of a cut next to his eye! He had hit his head so hard that it broke the skin and was bleeding pretty profusely. I cleaned it with veteracyn. It's pretty swollen, I think from hitting the coffee table so hard. Is there anything else I should do for it?

The swelling went down and it looks better today.

Poor Saxon! These dogs just have no concern for their own safety when they play lol!

Glad he is ok. Don't want anything messing with his good looks!

Awww poor guy! Buster does this often, smacks his head into walls and doors and door frames during fetch. And he doesn't want me to look at his face to check it out, he wants me to throw the ball again.
Silly dogs.... no clue what they're doing and still so happy, even when they hurt themselves! Glad the swelling went down!

He's done it before, but never broken the skin or gotten as swollen as it did. It looks much better today, but there's definitely going to be a scar, I just hope the fur will grow back!

Brandy got a bad scratch in the same place on her eye and the fur never grew back.

That's what I'm thinking will happen here.
