I've been keeping an eye on a few things on Winston. Nothing alarming really. But last week I noticed a new small growth under his chin and tonight I just happened to spot something qhere the jewels used to be. That one concerns me. I'm going to try and get him in tomorrow otherwise it'll be weds before I have another chance. Opinions? Sent from my SM-G730V using proboards

Waiting for Weds. In the mean time I've freaked myself out.

The first two look like cysts. Dharma gets those a lot, nothing to worry about. But the one in the third picture is concerning. Glad you're getting him checked out. Hope it's not a big deal. Let us know.

#damndog I hope it's just a cyst. He's has those before but they've never popped out like that. Usually just a lump under the skin.

Agree with Suzi. Have you noticed the third one looking red sometimes and others not?

The small one (third photo) is under his chin. I felt it last week, I just thought it was a sore from bitey face antics. I checked it this time and realized it wasn't a sore. The larger one I'd never seen before, but then I don't usually check out his coin purse. But it wasnt there at his bath last month.

I don't have anything very helpful to add other than try to not freak out, which is VERY hard thing to do. Chubby has had so many lumps, some were bad ones some were neutral ones but they all caused pretty massive worries on my end. Big hugs until Wednesday, the waiting makes things feel so much worse.

Did they have to sedate to aspirate? Fingers crossed cuz Im not ready to deal with issues like this with him.

No sedation necessary. Harley had more than her fair share of need aspirations and it is very easy.

Rufus has had them too no sedation necessary. But since its near his coin purse they might give him a local shot there to numb the area then needle it

Ok. The vet tech who answered the phone was talking about sedation. We're talking a $100 office visit if that happens. I'll go in prepared at least.

Ir sounds like they mean sedate to remove it. Not aspirated it. Double check with them that they are doing a needle aspiration not a full biopsy

Ditto to what ME said. Sometimes aspiration is not possible and some vets based on appearance of the lump or bump will do punch biopsy.

Winstons lumps and bumps were looked at today. Lindsey called them papillomas. She cauterized the one under his chin, it may or may not grow back. The one on his junk, we'll leave alone for now. She has been his vet since 2009, so she knows his history well. She thinks that he may have an over active (forget the term) system. He's had more skin issues than anything else. From allergies, hives, lumps and bumps, the hematoma, and tons of skin tags. (lots and lots of skin tags) We also discussed his stinkin' front leg. He plays too hard then he's hobbled, until something exciting happens then he forgets he's sore and runs like he's a youngin' again. He'll be taking some Rimadyl to see how he does. She'll be getting her xray next month, and he'll be one of her first guinea pigs. (just kidding) He doesn't react at all when she pokes and prods, stretches etc. Basically he's arthritic and needs to quit acting like he's as young as River.
The lumps and bumps I'll monitor, and continue to freak the eff out when they crop up.
