Looks like a lot of those entries haven't been updated recently. I wonder if that means that all is well w/ those brands?

Ok, I just checked out this list and it showed some recalls for the Natural Balance, Dick Van Dykes' website, but that was for 2007. ??? I had been feeding Stevie Wunder their "Salmon & Sweet Potatoe" formular, dry, during that time period and he never got sick. He didn't even start seizuring until Dec 2007. He didn't have any diarrhea, vomiting, or any signs like that at all during all of 2007. ??? Also, I checked out the list of ingredients for that product and I don't see anything that looks bad for the dogs. No gluten, not animal by-products or the like. I also see it is sold right here in Kentucky, at a local Petco an hour from me. But, the price is the same as what I was paying from Jeffers Pet Supply. The shipping is the same cost, and even if I drove there it wouldn't save me that much in gas expenses, unless I made the trip and stocked up for several months in advance. That might be an option, but I can't afford to feed it to more than one dog. It is just too pricey for me right now. What to do?? Does anyone know why some of the products were recalled? The website does not state anything at all about recalls. beloved bullies in kentucky

Some of the formulas of certain brands were ok and some weren't, during the recall of 07. I was feeding Natural Balance at the time, the vegetarian formula, but switched for a few months. Now I am back to feeding it because it is the only veg formula that is decent. I am honestly not comfortable feeding ANY kibble, but since my dog is largely vegetarian, my options are limited.
The recalls were related to gluten/protein that was imported from China.

I like Natural Balance feeds...they seem to be going above and beyond in the testing department. www.naturalbalanceinc.com/PetFoodScreening.tplI haven't fed NB in a while, but am considering trying Daisy on the fish and sweet potato formula.
