from www.denverpost.comdenver and the west Judge: Aurora can keep pit-bull law The Denver Post Updated: 11/19/2008 11:53:06 PM MST Aurora's pit-bull ordinance was upheld by a federal judge Wednesday. Chief U.S. District Judge Wiley Y. Daniel ruled in favor of the city. Florence Vianzon Sasek, who owns Isis, an American Staffordshire terrier mix, had sued the city with the help of the American Canine Foundation, saying the law is vague and was passed unnecessarily. No pit-bull breeds are allowed in the city, but Vianzon Sasek was allowed to keep her dog because she owned Isis before the ordinance took effect. Felisa Cardona, The Denver Post

check out the comments, including one from Denver city attorney and hate-monger Kory Nelson (posting pseudonymously). He has a bug about Glen Bui.. the 2 of them deserve each other. the courts are NOT OUR friends. How many of these court cases do we have to lose before we get it?

well, the law grandfathered in existing pit bulls, so they can stay. I don't know about any pit bulls people got between the passing of the law and this ruling, whether they would be grandfathered in as well. But no new "pit bulls" are allowed. I haven't heard whether they go door to door like in Denver to seize innocent pets and kill them, but it wouldn't surprise me.
What really completely sucks is that the city's bite statistics show that bites have INCREASED overall. But they claim that since bites from pit bulls have decreased (well, duh...) the law is effective. So f'ing stooopid.
