I'm not sure if anything has been posted yet, but I couldn't find anything. Lucy is going through another chewing phase. She is 7 months, not sure is she is teething again or just being a brat. She chewed up her kong (red) can eat a bully stick (12 in)in 20 minutes, when it used to last her a week, she can almost get through a nylabone, and she now goes through ropes really fast too. She won't chew on a black kong, I don't know what that is about lol.
What are some good safe things for dogs to chew when they are teething/going through a chewing phase that will last longer?

Have you tried the Galileo Nylabones? They're quite tough and my dogs take a while to get through them. Those are the best I've found for strong chewers.

Ooooops, hit the button by mistake. Listen, I've been using the Kong rubber toys for my pit bullies since 2000. They come highly recommended by Spindletop Rescue and other pit bully folks, too. They last forever, but make sure you get the one for the tough chewers, the black ones, havn't had a dog yet that could chew them up. ??? They are expensive but last for years...........worth the investment. Anybody else had good success with Kong toys? I buy from Jeffers Supply and have found their prices to be the lowest yet. If you want their URL for their website, let me know..

I said above, she ate her kong. There's no way I am going to buy her something she is able to chew up and swallow that isn't edible. I have been using kong toys as well for years, and would normally recommend them too, but not to someone who's dog already ate one.
the galileo nylabones, are those the huge ones? I'll give those a try. She has a wolf sized one, and lost it, now shes working on one of those teething ones with the nubbies on the inside, which she is quite obsessed with.

Dont give her ropes. If she swallows a junk, the threads can become entangled in her guts.
There are some toys made out of tire rubber you might try. Or even an actual tire (like a lawnmower tire).. but get one without steel belts.

Get the black Kong instead of the red. Marrow bones and rib bones (beef ribs off whole slabs) last for a very, very long time with my destructive girl.

Nylabone also makes a line called "Big Dog Toys" that last almost as long as the Galileos. They are good for variety because they come in more shapes and flavors. Roscoe's favorite is the ham steak and Aiden likes the turkey leg ones. They are as big as the Galileos as well.
For a cheap interactive toy, I like to knot old jean legs and other rags to play tug. They seem to last longer than the rope toys, the dogs like them more, and they are cheaper. Of course you should never leave your dog unsupervised with one.

P.s. Lucy has all her adult teeth at 7 months. Just an adolescent dog thing - and Pit Bulls always love to chew LOl
Something to keep her busy - pupsicles; freeze beef or chicken broth in a tupperware container. When it's frozen, thaw it slightly so it can easily slide out, and that will keep her busy for a while. It's messy though, so she'll need to be outdoors or in a crate with no matting for easy clean up.
