Luca's chipped, so he always has that form of ID. I think all animals should be chipped. Oh heck yes - I think all animals should be chipped as well. It is not that expensive and it is a permanent form of identification. Tags are cute and are also necessary, but if someone "finds" your pet - collars and tags can be taken off - chips can't. Even my bird is chipped (of course he is also tattood, but the federal government did that as a way of tracking him down since he was an import).

My pets are all chipped as well, except the guinea pigs.

Both of my dogs are chipped, too but I always keep collars and tags on them (when in crate, tags are taken off). Reason is, *if* they ever were to get loose, I'd want something visual which indicates that they are pets. A loose pit bull with no collar may be perceived differently than one with a nice collar and handful of jingly tags.

I was just wondering, is a martingale the same thing as a half-check collar or are they completely different things?
