Is it possible to register and get papers on a dog that is for sure a purebreed but has no papers. The parents are not papered either. UCA has a form for dogs with no background but is this reliable? If anyone knows of an organization that I could register my dog at that would be great! If anyone knows anything about the UCA I would love to hear it too!!! Thanks!

Why would you want to register this dog?
The only thing I have heard about the UCA is that they are the primary registry for puppy mill/pet shop dogs.
They have a breed listed as the "American Bully" ??????
They also have a "English Bantam Bulldogge" listed...it says the breed was developed in the 1970's.....
I'm no expert, especially on registering dogs, but I would run from this registry personally.

If you want to compete in certain AKC events with an unpapered dog, you can get something called an indefinite listing priviledge. Events available include agillity, which if I remember correctly, was what you were interested in. www.akc.org/reg/ilpex.cfmYou will have to register the dog as an American Staffordshire Terrier, and the dog has to be altered to be eligible.

Ditto the last two posts. Never heard of the UCA but it sure sounds like a registry that caters to unethical breeders. Don't want to support them by sending money in! Look into the ILP that Val mentioned above, or you can also check out UKC's Limited Privilege registration: ukcdogs.com/Registration.htm (scroll to the bottom and click the Instructions link). UKC will register your dog as an APBT. Have any questions, just ask =)

Yes, i want to register him so I can show him in events! In my small town i can show him with out papers, but I would love to go farther than that! He is very smart and starting off very well with basic obiedence(graduating from obiedence school!!!)! I would love to be able to show people that APBT are smart and they are NOT only good at killing!!! Also, I agree. UCA doesnt seem good!!! Thanks!!!

If I'm thinking right you can also register him through ckc. You can do a single registration and the form is on their website.

I don't recommend registering with the CKC (Continental Kennel Club). They don't exactly have respect in the dog world, and if showing/competing is the driving force behind seeking registration, AKC or UKC (the 1st and 2nd largest orgs in the country) would be the best bet.

There is no way to register your dog with a reputable registry without his parents being registered.
However, you can have a limited registration to take part in activities, but you won't get any points for conformation, just fun show conformation, and the dog needs to be s/n.
