Generally you can bathe after 10 days.

She is still being good about keeping calm. I am very proud of her. I can't wait to give miss stinky a bath though! Plus she really needs one because she has a few fleas too. I'm gonna wait 10 days though. Do you guys think it will be 100% necessary to go to the vet to get those staples out, or do you think I could do it? I haven't looked too closely at them. I just look at it a few times daily to check on the redness/swelling. I'd like to get her a follow up appt anyway, but the vet I use overcharges for EVERYTHING and I haven't switched her yet. Plus I just quit my job so money is extra tight.

I would think that the staple removal and follow-up would be included in what you paid to have her spayed.

I got her spayed at a low cost spay neuter clinic. They didn't specify whether or not I had to pay for them to get them taken out. I was going to get her a follow up at a regular vet anyway, but probably not for 2 weeks after she had it done. Sorry I am being so needy with the questions. I just think having my male dog neutered was such a simple process comparatively. I did pay almost $300 with him though, and she cost $65 at the clinic.

The follow-up should be no cost; she should absolutely get a follow-up visit, and yes, your vet (or the clinic vet) needs to remove the staples.

cool, thanks for the answer. They didn't mention a cost, so I wasn't sure.

cool, thanks for the answer. They didn't mention a cost, so I wasn't sure. I've never heard of ANY vet/clinic charging to get sutures/staples removed after surgery. It's all part of the cost going in.
