www.johnkoerner.org/Hollingsworth/I'm always interested in books like this, however I get scared away by the possibility of who/what my money for the purchase would be supporting.

In the testimonials:
"JACK THANK YOU for the Hollinsworth Book it just came in today. I have read the first chapter and You're right, I have to trouble putting it down! The Hollinsworth dogs sound like My SIXBITS dogs,They are GAME ,and You have to kill every single hair in them to stop them, plus You will get screamers in the corner and very very intense that You better watch it or they will try to bite You to let them go! I done a outcross with GDK GR.Ch.Richard Ramirez and they look GREAT but time will tell? Thank You Jack for the book and look foward in Your next ones. I have almost all Your stuff but 1 and I never have regreted sending You my money, Ill have to save again to buy Your other hard cover book since Im on Disability so save me one. GOD BLESS." ~ THE LAREDOBOYS

Oh yeah, these are gamedogs, and the guy who wrote it is a well-known dog fighter.

Well, I knew that but I posted that guy's comments b/c you said you were concerned about what your purchase of the book would be supporting. I bet a very small percentage of people would be buying it for historical purposes.
I also can't stand the holier than thou attitude on the author's 'about' page. Just knowing what these dogs were/are bred for is enough to make it difficult to read someone's bragging about the lines.

It's a conflict for me because I absolutely love reading about bloodlines, pedigrees and history. But I won't purchase a book directly from one of these guys. The down side is that later, you have to expect to pay hundreds on Ebay or Amazon through 3rd party sellers.
I actually think a lot of people would be interested in this book for historical reasons, but I think a lot of those same people wouldn't think twice about buying it directly from a dog fighter.

Oh my original post was a general statement about 'books like this' on gamebred dogs/lines that are privately published.
