Well it had been 6 days since the surgery and Lu started sneezing yesterday. On the sheet we got from the clinic, it said it was normal for them to sneeze after surgery. She isn't coughing, just sneezing. Is this kennel cough? I tried googling it but as I have mentioned before I have add ware on my computer and I keep getting redirected and I can't find a trustworthy site. Anyway, she is barely eating. she keeps going over to her bowl and licking her lips like she is excited to eat but then she doesn't eat. I think she can't taste it or something, so she thinks something is wrong with her food. She will eat snacks no problem and she ate half of a huge bowl yesterday of her food relentlessly.
Does this sound like kennel cough, or is it probably what they said was normal from the clinic? Or does anyone have a link for a reputable dog health site I could look at before panicking and calling the vet.

Refusal of food in a dog that previously scarfed it up is a sure sign you should call the vet. I wouldn't wait.

Oh, I didn't wait she has an appt. for Monday. I donno, it was sort of weird. I told them she was sneezing and they just told me they can look at her on Monday and wouldn't give me insight on whether or not it was a big problem or normal. She actually just ate about a cup of food while I decided to make her some oatmeal and then she ate that.

How much is she sneezing? I'm glad you are taking her on Monday...I would have said take her TODAY but since she is eating, it doesn't sound like an emergency.

Yah, I just think she thought we switched her food on her, she wants to eat and seems hungry, she is just acting like her food doesn't taste right. All it took was putting a treat in her food. She also just ate a 1/2 cup of oatmeal and some nutritional yeast mixed in. One of her favorite snacks. So she is going in on Mon to get her staples taken out and a follow up and to see about her sneezing. Hopefully it is gone by then. If it continues I'll try and get her in sooner. It isn't that bad, just when she wakes up and walks around. She is fine while she is relaxing and fine if she has been up for a while.

Is there any gunk coming out of her nose? Could be an URI, possibly why she isn't interested in eating as much. But kennel cough is a dry, hacking cough. It doesn't sound like that's what she has.

No gunk in her nose. Her nose actually looks and feels normal.

Just updating that little miss sneezy pants is doing better. I ended up calling her regular vet and they gave me a list of symptoms if she develops that she needs to come in sooner. It was strange. She had like a human cold. First sneezing, then sneezing and a watery nose (but not gunky or anything), then today she seems like she is getting over it and wants to huck up a lougie every so often lol. I think it will probably be gone by tomorrow.
