This was in my inbox this morning....I thought Rachel Ray was all about cooking? Now she's doing a show on dogfighting ??? Whatev. Here's the info. ================ Hello- This week the “Rachael Ray” show tackles the controversial topic of dog fighting, which was thrown into the spotlight after the discovery of Michael Vick’s illegal interstate dog fighting ring. Over 60 pit bulls were left behind in the dog-fighting pit on Vick’s property in Virginia, and one of the adorable pit bulls who has since be rehabilitated will be making a special guest appearance on The “Rachael Ray” airing on Friday, February 29th. The segment will examine how viewers can help the rescued dogs and for more information please log onto www.rachaelrayshow.com for more details. Please see the attached photo of Rachael Ray, rescued pit bull Johnny Justice, and Bad Rap Representative Donna Reynolds. Thanks! Hallie

i believe she has 3 pitbulls...im not sure. this show should be interesting to see. I know she has one, and has made kind of a bigdeal about it. In the clip you can see her weeping about the story. It won't be about "dogfighting" but about the horrible abuse the victims are subjected to. There's a cute clip of "jonny justice" at the badrap blog. badrap-blog.blogspot.com/ I have mixed feelings about whether this approach is a good thing, longterm, for pit bulls. We don't want people to hate/fear them... but we don't want people to think that all of them (and especially not "gamedogs") are just goofy couch potatoes.

hoestly i dont see why people cant just leave it all alone and worry about the violent people and the sex offenders walking around the US. as far as rachel ray....it could all be a publicity stunt.

I think this publicity will backfire. It's one thing to counteract the media bias - we have no choice at this point - but there is too much pimping of the breed happening now. BR on their own blog is pretty ok with calling themselves "media ho's" for the dogs. I dunno, it sounds bad, IMO. Publicity is never what this breed needed. Not then, not now. But publicity stunt? Of course. I have no doubt about it. If Rachel Ray loves the breed so much, why hasn't she done a piece on them before? Why the Vick dogs?

Some publicity is not a bad thing, like KNockoutdogfighting.org where the UFC Fighters are involved in. I would love to get a poster of them for my daughter's karate class.
