That's funny that your shelter told you he was older, my shelter always tells me they are younger then they really are. Our most recent baby they told me was 3-4 months when we brought him home, the 1st night we had him I was checkin him out and found that he had ALL of his adult teeth already!

Haha I have the opposite problem, because Lucy went through one heat her's is extra large. I know the feeling! Roscoe was neutered at 5 years of age, when I adopted him, and the first thing anyone says when they see him is, "Damn, your dog has a big d!ck." I agree that dogs and cats recover much more quickly from pediatric alters. I saw it over and over again while working at the Lancaster shelter. The only reason I would wait is if I wanted to do serious performance work like heavy-duty schutzhund or weight pull, and I don't think I would ever wait for a cat.
