Check this out (thanks, Michele!!!). I would love to have another long-lasting (and healthy) treat to give to Luca. www.himalayandogchew.com/?input=productThe only thing that scares me is the possibility of large chunks getting bitten off, and causing an obstruction? It does say that only small pieces come off at a time.....I might try one of these out, just to see how it wears. Anyone used these before?

You are welcome! I have been thinking of trying these out for some months now but had the same concern you had about large chunks getting bitten off. Figured I will try them and just keep an eye on her as she eats it. As you know Harely tends to just bite things and not chew on things...hoping she might like this and naw on it instead of just trying to take a chunk out of it.

Yeah, and what happens when they gnaw away most of it, and there is a piece left that the dog could swollow? But it might be a good, supervision treat that you can just toss when it starts getting too small. I wonder how messy they are, as well.

I actually bought one for my dog. She seems to really like it but as previously posted she is not one to chew on things and tends to just try to bite chunks off of it instead of chewing or nawing on it. I have resorted to holding it while she "chews" on it and this has helped some but she still trys to just bite it into pieces.
If your dog is a chewer I would def. try it!
