I don't usually do fluff and mush, but be warned... this is a bit fluffy and mushy! ;D
I was just reading back through some of my first posts and realized that it's only been about 6 months since I joined this forum. I can't believe it... it seems like so much longer than that. I'm kind of embarrassed by some of my first posts, since I feel like I could now answer my own questions with confidence.
I know the Thanksgiving weekend is winding down, but I have to thank Mary H. for RPBF. This forum has literally changed my life. I feel like I have gained YEARS worth of education and knowledge in a very short time. After having pit bulls and mixes for almost 9 years, after doing tons of shelter volunteering... I have learned WAY more just by asking questions, paying attention, reading the books and websites recommended by the experts here I trust, and getting to know the wonderful people on this forum. I wouldn't even have Dharma if not for RPBF, because I doubt I would have met Gale, I doubt I would have gotten involved in Mutts-n-Stuff, and I doubt I would have been able to volunteer at HSMO's "secret bunker." And now Dharma and I are working with a CPDT/Karen Pryor Academy CTP trainer, and Liz and I are beginning to do rescue work on our own. Maybe I would have followed a similar path eventually, but I have to thank Mary H. and RPBF for giving me such a great start.
I pop in on a few other forums, but I consider RPBF my online "pit bull home." Thank you to all the friends I have made here and to all of the forum members. Thank you for your love for these dogs and your commitment to doing your absolute best for their safety, health, and happiness.
Ok, no more fluff!
