Dogs can get dandruff, yes.
Dogs also eat grass. A little here and there can be ok, but if your dog is eating grass excessively, you may want to speak to your vet about it.

Thanks for the reply. just when i walk her she eats it. she normally stays in a area that has no grass. she seemed to like the snow also, ate it.

My 6 month old ABPT named Boomer, he had dandruff so we bought him this dog shampoo that helps moisturize his skin and prevents dandruff and itchy skin. Also I feed Boomer more dog food than that but he gets A LOT of exercise so our vet said he needs some extra food to keep up with him! I would ask your vet how much to feed her!!! On the grass eating, I have heard that dogs will eat grass when there tummies are upset or occassonally when they just feel like it!!

yup Stella has had dandruff off and on for a while, especially in the winter. I find that regular brushing, not bathing every day, and adding olive oil to her food helps. She's a blue, which is a dilute gene and has a tendancy towards dry skin and skin problems. Is the dog in your thumbnail the one you are talking about? If so, use extra care with her skin. A high quality food (see thread on dog food) will help clear some of it up, but not all. Olive oil rocks! You can also back-brush her, ruffling all the fur up, then brush it down with quick strokes (you'll see a lot of flakes), then rub olive oil into the coat. Don't use conditioner or any chemical lotions, cuz she's bound to lick a lot off. Another great grooming tool can be found at the farm supply store or horse supply catalogue (Dover Saddlery, Bevals, State Line Tack): a curry mitt. Like a rubber curry comb, but a little softer if she's sensitive. I know people who use a face curry too, or the mini rubber curry comb. Then, moisturize with the olive oil. Good luck!! And my dog ate a lot more than that at 6 months... pups need more food than many adult dogs, so make sure you get a vet's recommendation! A puppy should have a layer of fat around the ribs, so that you cannot see them, and you can barely feel them when you run your fingers down her side. =)
