Ahhh...Things have been going RIGHT for once in a long while.
I have wanted to learn how to groom dogs because there is a serious shortage of dog groomers in my area. There is 1 and no other groomer within 50 miles. She is always WAY backed up (I called her when I got Marley and it would have been May 11th before he could have gotten in, so I ended up driving 50+ miles to a groomer). I know I could do well in my area but I had no idea who I could internship with.
I spoke to a groomer that is quite a long way from me and she said I could intern with her then she started telling me what shed require-18 month unpaid internship, I buy all my grooming supplies ($800+) and I would not be able to work within 100 miles of her. I thought it sounded kind of screwy so I told her thank but no thanks and continued hunting....
Well, I was at the vet center yesterday and was talking to the receptionist about trying to find someone to learn from and she told me about someone who lives fairly close to me that used to groom show dogs. She gave me there number and I called…
Turns out the lady is a friend of a friend and would love to train me. She also boards dogs, trains dogs (Protection, obedience, agility, etc.) boards, trains and raises horses…Also she is looking for help!
We are meeting Friday to discuss things but everything sounds great! She is going to teach me how to groom & train dogs and how to train (Break) the horses. I think this is going to be a great learning experience for me. I imagine it is going to be hard work-They sometimes have 20+ dog & 20+ horses. But I am so excited!
Then, last night when Gustavo got home he also had good news…He got a $1.20 raise!!! YAY!!!
Everything just seems to falling into place and it is awesome! ;D
