So, to people who don't know him Chubs can look scary (stocky, "red-nosed" which are more aggressive than the blue nosed (wtf?), and bad chop-job ears)
During the cooler temps I put on sweaters/hoodies and even got him a bright yellow raincoat (the hood being too small for his boulder-like head, lol). It made him more approchable on the street, but now with the warmer weather its getting too hot for funny hoodies or teeshirts. I was hoping to buy him some funky bandanas and maybe a pair of doggie-sunglasses, but also liked the idea of those daisy-flower things that you put either on a dog's head like a headband or the kind that go all the way around the head so the petals surround his face.
I would normally never subject a dog to such silliness, but it seems to really help more people want to approach and pet him and learn that not all pits are evil man-eaters.
Anyone know were to get these kinds of things or have ideas (that don't involve dresses!).

This post is hilarious to me - K, I think it is soooo awesome what you are doing to help ease people's fears about Chubs and the breed in general. I totally get why you are doing it (the whole "not wanting to subject him to the silliness, but it's for a good cause" thing). I would pay money to see a pic of Chubs in one of those petal/flower hat thingies.
And yes, "Red noses are more aggressive" is a myth I have encountered before.

I live in Queens so Chubs would HAVE to wear Mets gear, lol.
The last couple of Petcos I went to only had fun stuff for little dogs (because, as the guy there told me "People with normal sized dogs aren't that mean", lol mostly at the 'normal sized dogs' comment though)
Really want to get that daisy flower thingy, it looks too cute on the pics of dogs I've seen them on before.
BTW, LOVE Rufus as the pimp-daddy!

LOL! Poor Rufus! I think Chubs would look smashing in a cute bandanna. I don't know if you can sew or know someone who does, but you could get some fun fabric on clearance and just go to town.

LOL This reminds me of a doggy dress up Halloween email I got. It had all kinds of pics of dogs in costumes. The subject of the email was:
"This is why dogs bite people!"
Thanks for giving me a good laugh with all these outfits!

Sugar, I think the Bandana would be so cute on Snorts! You can even get a customized one if you click on their "other items" link.
Michelle, I love the wiggle butt, too! I think your dog's info is listed on the back, though I'm not positive. Either way it's adorable and perfect for a wiggly pibble!
I can't wait till I get an other dog (after I graduate and start my career). I will definitely be purchasing a wiggle butt tag and a sweet bandana (and if she's a girl, maybe one of the other lacy looking ones).

Said it before, I'll say it again:
Girls get all the cute stuff!
ps: Ordered a Daisy dog costume, it has a flower petal headband!! Can't wait until I get it and pictures will follow! Plus, getting Chubs a collar from Ella's Leads (she has been sooo helpful!). If you didn't already know, Ella had to have surgery to get a lump in her neck removed so to help with the vet bills Ella's Leads is doing a 20% off sale.
