Just want to share this, because this is the first dog that Liz and I have pulled completely on our own and I'm really excited about her! She's a female pit mix from a very high-kill AC facility in western Illinois. She did great on her temperament evaluation and I picked her up from her transport the other day. She'll be staying with me for a week or two before she goes to her foster home. AC named her Cassie and she answers to it, so we're keeping it for now. Cassie is a sweetheart! Great temperament, very soft, and she does really well with female and male dogs. She's only 37 lbs and probably would be well filled out at 40 lbs. I really love this girl and I'm so happy that we were able to save her. She's probably around 2 years old and it doesn't look like she ever had puppies. She was picked up as a stray, but was actually in pretty good condition and was already fixed. She's potty trained, crate trained, and knows basic commands so she obviously lived in a home at some point. Nobody claimed her though... the area in which she was found does have a lot of foreclosures and people abandoning their homes and dogs. I've had a hard time getting good pictures of her, but here are a couple napping shots. They don't do her cuteness justice, though!

She is beautiful. The little black pitty girls steal my heart everytime. The little black girls are one of the most stable pitties. So, I am smittened. ;D

Thanks! Cassie is doing really well and will go to her foster family on Saturday. We want her to get some training and hopefully pass her CGC before we make her available for adoption. She definitely needs to learn some manners, but she's a good girl and I think she'll do really well.
