Hi peoples, im Nathan im 25 and have a 14 week old female APBT named Ju$tice, she is the best dog i ever owned !! I live in Tasmania, Australia and look forward to talking to you's and getting advise and tips with this wonderful breed..

Hi Nathan!......Congrats on your puppy! We are new owners as well...Our Leo is now 8months old. Like you I'm hoping to get advice and tips. I looked through the boards last night and there are some great stories as well as very good information!

I didn't know they were banned in the whole country? I know there are some suburbs/states that have problems with them, but not the entire country. I'm an Aussie also, so I find that really interesting.

oh so its like here in the states, some cities have bans and some dont? that is good to know.. i thought all of australia had a ban..

I thought I recognised the name and the question. Maryellen, your on the Bulldogbreeds.com board aswell arn't you? The question that you asked here about APBT being banned in Australia I answered much more completely there. I did a little bit of research into it, to see what the deal was with it. To cut a long story short, there are something like 5 or 6 breeds I think (off the top of my head) that are not allowed to be imported into the country and the APBT is one of them. Each state has their own rules and regs regarding ownership but from what I can tell Queensland is pretty out of control with their BSL and other dog laws. There is one council that actually regulates the size of a dog if you can believe that! I have a couple of links you could check out if you'd like, but living in the US...well, I guess you don't need to worry all that much about whether you can own one here or not. :lol: Unless you plan on moving here...?

yeah hey guys, its true in aus we have some states they are banned but i live in tasmania and its all good down here at the moment...
