Those collars are gorgeous! I'm curious to know how that harness works, too.

do you like the harness. Rocky is not much puller either but when he wants to go sniff and mark he can pull really hard when he wants too and my back and shoulders cant handle it.

I'm really glad to see more companies offering martingales with buckles.. that style fits our dogs heads/necks so much better than the traditional hound style.

thanks to this thread i now know that there are 2 types of martingales. was wondering why one would have a buckle... because a traditional martingale is sized for dogs (like greyhounds) with skinny heads and can be hard to fit over a bully's fat head. Then if you get one big enough to fit over the head, it can slide off too easily. With the buckle style, you can size it for the neck and still get that "soft choke" effect without the danger of it falling off. Keeping in mind that a martingale IS a type of strangle collar.

Yes exactly like I have to tighten the martingale when I go for a walk and remember to loosen when we get home. I keep it on him daily very loose so it can be taken on and off. We try to take it off at night cause scratching and the turn and the shake can be annoying.

fyi, collarmania.com makes buckle and regular martingales, and the regular martingales are sized in 3 sizes, so even if you have a blocky head type dog, they can make a collar to fit your dogs head and have it be a martingale (and adjustable) i have a bunch of collarmania martingales (including one buckle martingale collar from them) and they fit perfectly. rufus wears a martingale all the time , and i can keep it tigher and it doesnt flop around but still works properly whether loose or tight when i walk him..

The one i just got online somewhere isn't a buckle, but is adjustable, and it has 2 rings on it. One that let's it act like a soft choke, and one that let's it act like a regular collar. It is also 1" wide which is why i got it. Also, jackie doesn't have a block head (i am one though) b/c whatever she's mixed with gave her a narrower head. But we still love her anyway Will let Dana pick something out from Collarmania!!!
