Just wanted to post here and note that after months of working with my really skittish pit Devin me and my wife have decided to keep her. She's made great progress but she's REALLY attached to us. I know everyone says pits re-home easily but she's had such a hard life up until this point (pulled out of a crack house by animal control almost starved to death, nearly put down, then spent over a year in a no kill kennel) that we just decided we couldn't put her through any more turmoil. Besides we're more than a little attached to the little bugger. So she's going to spend the rest of her life with us, hopefully stealing fewer socks and chewing through not quite so many garden hoses as she has up until this point. Upon hearing the news she seemed somewhat pleased. So anyways I figured that I'd just mention that I've gone from pit fosterer to full blown pit owner. I never wanted a pit (more because I knew so many people give pit owners crap than b/c of anything to do with the dogs themselves) but after living with her for a few months I'm really glad the shelter dropped her in our laps.
