Some step by step advice on how to put pictures on line please... I am not techy savvy at all but really want to post Opheila's picture and always have cute kitty pix. Plus in 2 weeks I'm finally getting the Ophie tattoo so I can show that off too. So explain it from-I have a digital camera with a little card thing in there. I guess you get that in the computer somehow and put the pictures from there into a file so you can send them places on line right?

Okay, so your digital camera has a card, but it *might* also come with a USB cable that has a flat, rectangular end for your computer and should have a smaller "notched" end to connect to the camera somewhere. If your camera has cable capabilities, that will be the easiest way to get the images from the card onto your computer. Plus, the cables are usually pretty cheap (under $10) so you can buy one if you don't have one.
If you MUST transfer by card to computer, you will need to see if that particular card fits into one of the ports int your computer. If the card doesn't fit, that means buying a card reader which will set you back a good $50.
Regardless, one way or another, let's say you've finally got the pictures ready to go into the computer. Most computers will guide you through transferring the photos onto the computer hard drive. You will want to choose a location (probably under a folder pre-labeled "My Pictures") where you can find the pictures easily. I usually transfer ALL pictures and then sort them into better-described folders later.
Once the pictures are on your computer, the easiest way to get the images online is using a host like Photobucket or Google Picasa. After you create an account, it can explain to you how to upload the photos. Depending on how many photos you want to upload, it can take a good long time (quite a few minutes) so be patient, start the upload and change laundry loads or something. LOL
Then once you have all the photos online, you will use the host sites to get the URL (the online location/address) for each separate photo, and then you post those using the "image" button in the "regular reply" (aka not the quick reply) here!
I hope that made some kind of sense! And maybe someone else has a faster way, but this is the way I've posted pics when I wanted to!

your camera should have come with a manual which will explain how to get the photos onto your computer. Either via USB or a card reader as Carey describes.
