Is anyone experienced with roses? I've got my first bush this year and something is lightly munching the leaves. What might repel small biting things but not hurt the dog or cats if they rub against it? Thanks to whoever suggested the boiling soapy water on ant hills. It really made a difference...safely. Would you believe we have mice? Seven lazy cow sized cats laid out and they probably just watch the mousies run in front of them. The mice I catch alive and let them go in the woods a few miles away but ants and spiders ewwwwwww

Don't have any suggestions for roses, but I just wanted to say that I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't bring myself to kill a mouse!!

We grow roses and use some types of spray by Bayer which I don't think is probably pet friendly, but my dogs don't go near the roses. I think there is a brand called Ecoscence or something like that which is suppose to be mild. They sell it at Walmart.
