Another reason to avoid dog parks... it's not just the dogs misbehaving that you have to worry about. Man arrested after canine run-in at dog park triblocal.com/buffalo-grove/2011/08/23/police-man-arrested-after-canine-run-in-at-dog-park/A man defending his dog from an unwelcome advance from another dog now faces battery charges for shoving the other dog’s owner, police said. Authorities said a 57-year-old woman was at the Happy Tails dog park in Buffalo Grove Sunday when her male dog approached a female dog and attempted to mount her. The owner of the female dog kicked the male dog twice in an effort to separate them, police Commander Steve Husak said. When the woman then objected to the man attempting to discipline her dog, police said she later told them, the man shoved her in the chest, causing her head to snap back. Witnesses corroborated the woman’s account, police said. The owner of the female dog, Mikail Sokolovsky, 32, of the 400 block of Commanche Trail in Wheeling, was charged with battery, police said. Sokolovsky could not immediately be reached for comment.

First.... ask the owner of the male dog should be "Is he fixed?" Second... don't freak out and gently separate them. What's the issue if your female is fixed also? Dogs will attempt to mount anything not nailed down to show dominance. Third... if you don't want your bitch to possibly get mounted by strange dogs.... KEEP HER HOME! Fourth... please spay and neuter your pets.. and certain owners that exhibit too much testosterone... this has been your daily public service announcement. Thanks for tuning in!

From what I've seen, boy dogs, girl dogs, fixed, unfixed any of them can do the humping it's the owners responsibility to keep them from aggravating others. But that guy should've just up and left instead of starting that whole fuss. Don't have to worry about Oph, any dog tries being improper and she scares the tail off of them...but when dumb ol Sushi the cat tries she cowers next to me for protection...weird doggie sometimes
