It's too quiet without my Kashi...does anyone know of any orange/ginger kittens or cats who could use a great home? We're in North Jersey, been looking at a few, but nothing definite yet. It's like dating, when you finally meet the right one you just know.

I will keep an eye out for you! I've always wanted an orange tiger, I would name him "Oliver" after the movie Oliver and Company. It must be so tough to have that empty space in your home. I can't imagine losing Bowie or Ziggy. People never seem to think of cats as being on the same level as dogs, but I am just as attached to these two as to Saxon!

Think 516 is Long Island right? Yow, brings back memories...those gingers are soooo cute! Then there's two I'm meeting tonight (feral so not too optimistic) then an absolute darling tomorrow afternoon and one as a possibility who looks like Frankenkitty and plays like Ninja. Wish hubby would let me settle on three or four rather than one or two. That's okay, otherwise I'd be the crazy old cat lady already...wheeeheee maybe I already am!!!!!!!!!

sigh, know that nobody will be Kashi, but I'm gonna find the spirit in somebody. He used to be so laid back that Em would dress him in doll clothes and he would just chill...expression like " Human, there better be tuna in this for me, oh c'mon not the hat again". Em's older now but nice to have a relaxed kitty, Ninja and Stumpy could be rotties as cats and Chii hates everyone and Boo is like a ghost cat-you see her shadow as she runs. Delilah iand Sushi are like Quagmire. Very differnt personalities. The ferals tonight were adorable but total fraidycats...need someone who'll fit in easy.

Daves Like I may have met you when my mom was looking for a dog. There was a man there who showed us some dogs after hours. My favorite what a tan and white pit bull. In the cage on the front row towards the middle I think. OMG she was soooo sweet. Something about her just sucked me in. Right now cant think of her name. But thought about her for my mom but decided a pit bull and their strength a little bit much for her although she is active. There was also a little jack that was just not right. My mom ended up with a dog from Petsalive. Sorry to Hijack the thread. anyway back to those cats. Yes both wm and warwick have a good amount of cats for small shelters. Guess its all that farmland.

The rescue has their phone number in LI. they have two locations, one in Queens (like 15 minute drive from me...hint hint, lol) where they keep their kitties and the smaller dogs and their Freeport LI location (where they keep all the big dogs and some cats).

loverocksalot - If the Pit was Annie and the other dog (Jack Frost) was white with black spots on one ear it probably was me - tall, grey hair, white beard, and oh so handsome (not!!!).

Annie with the amber eyes was one of our favorite types of adoption. A young couple came to the shelter just to see what dogs we had available. Annie took one look at them and decided that 'these people are mine'. They didn't have a chance and took her home the next day and became one very happy family.
