Something smelled alittle "off" downstairs
Not too unusual in an old house, kids and animals
But couldn't quite place where it was coming from...
First suspect, the livingroom carpet and doormat, Chii acts out her discontent not having a private litter pan sometimes.
So spray, bleach and add carpet freshener
But I still smell it
My boy has his clothes hamper as the whole area under his bed...
Order the socks, underwear, everything to march to the washer under their own steam...okay lets move it out!
But I still smell it
The litterboxes downstairs need daily scooping, wash under them too while I'm at it. The bathroom down there. Why guys manage to dribble I don't know...but it's nasty, bleach and Lysol the whole room, bleach the drain in the shower can't hurt, then open windows...much better
But I still smell it
The dishes washed the sink cloroxed, hum vacum up the fur in the corners...they don't call me Fureverywhere for nothing kidz
I STILL smell it
Hubby has lawn clippings on the side of the house, maybe they're quietly composting and the fragrance is drifting in, go out to the side and can't make a connection...the garbage bags smell like plastic and green clippings but nothing offensive, back in the house
Yes I still smell it-
its not under the sink, or in the cast-off disherwasher or under the mini fridge, sometimes the fish tank gets alittle ripe between filter changes...but no odor from the tank either...time for bed, I give up
Next Morning
I suggest to hubby we get those clippings hauled out and have breakfast. Get dressed and time to walk Pookins before it rains again. Get my socks on and say the w word and Ophie starts the zoomies. Okay my sneakers are right here...
Sometimes Emmy hides Squinkies or small toys in my shoes as a joke...
Pull off my sneaker to shake out the toy and...
WAIT I SMELL IT
Apparently hiding from the cats, a mouse crawled into my sneaker and bought the farm...
