Work with me kids, I'm just trying to get information about allergies before I get Ophie to the vet. I'm making an appointment for Friday in Livingston, her old vet is nice enough but don't think they've got it on the ball beyond basic basics. I guess it's like when you have multi human children and they all eat the same stuff, you use the same soaps with them, share the same living space...and one of them has awhole bunch of skin problems and the others don't. We live in a big old house. Some of it's carpeted but mostly hardwood floors. I use baking soda with cinnamon as carpet powder most of the time and vacum once a week. There are fleas, but the Frontline seems to keep them off Ophie. But just above her tail she's rubbing herself bald with scratching. I've got that itching/hot spot spray from Petco and it doesn't seem to be helping. With humans they used to do the try allergens-remove allergens method. I guess the vet might have ideas after he looks at it. None of the cats seem to be bothered by scratching or anything at all. Save for leveling the house and starting fresh what might help???

she could be allergic to the flea bites if there are fleas in your house. get rid of the fleas first, then allergy testing, and only do the blood airborne allergy testing, it will tell if she is allergic to fleas or anything else its also possible the cinnamon is irritating her......
i am betting its the flea bites she is allergic to(actually the flea saliva)
