where im from we can buy pure %100 mutton fat in a tub. also carbs turns to fat can put on weight on your dogs corn flakes, pasta and its cheap!

i have seen so many talk bout allergy n skin. i am still having problems with halos rash, i have tried switching to cotton sheet, changing food, oatmeal shampoo and can not figure out what is making her break out. it gets worse, then some days looks like its going away. doing a vet visit this week. it dont itch here or she dont lick it doesnt seem to bother her at all. but its ugly n driving me crazy

able put picture up? sometimes they get rash from certain plants moving their area different location on the yard helps

Just a reassurance too, when we adopted Ophie she must have been the bottom dog in the kennel. She wasn't sick but perfect whole outline of every rib. Could imagine everyone barking her out of the food bowl. It took a good two months for her to start to look like a regular healthy dog. Even now with her omnivore diet she is on the slim side, just her build and metabolism I guess because she gained almosty thirty pounds in two years. There's a supplement called Nutri-Cal, don't know anything about it though

This is the farmer in me talking, but...
I wonder if you could add some rice bran oil to his food to add some weight. It's used a lot in horses and goats before the winter or before breeding to fatten them up a bit. Corn oil is also used, though dogs don't need any more corn in their diet since there's 1,000,000x too much in there already.
I wouldn't suggest RBO for long term use since it does come from a grain. Maybe in the short term, it could add just enough to get him to a healthy weight.
