Unfortunately, because of work schedules, we can't get there until Wednesday night.
But the losing hair situation is getting worse. She's shedding up a storm and getting red rashy areas on her chest where the hair is real thin now.
I don't think it's an allergy thing, but I could be wrong. So we'll get Babe checked out for the works and hopefully find and fix whatever it is.

got any pictures to put up? you can give her one hot pink benedryl pill to help with the itch. my gsd has allergies and i give her the hot pink benedryls and they help.
sounds like an allergy. is it just on her chest? is your grass high? was it just cut? what do you wash her bedding in?

I don't have any Benadryl to give her.
Would hair loss go along with the allergies? Like heavy duty shedding at this point?
There is plenty of high grass around us as we live out in the country, but this really just started a week or so ago and she's been with us since May.
Her bedding was washed in regular detergent, but again, it hasn't been done now since probably late May.
She's been on her food since early June.
Nothing I can think of has changed recently.
I don't really have a good picture of what the thinning and rash on her chest/abdomen looks like because I can't get her to stay still enough.

if she is scratching herself yes she would be losing fur, it also depends on how long her fur is and what she is mixed with . what was done last week that you can think of that wasnt done before ? she only starred scratching last week? did you cut the grass last week? its also possible if its in one spot it could be mange, or it could be bug bites from the grass as well..

I may pick some up this weekend. She isn't super itchy and actually doesn't seem to be scratching at all at the areas where she's losing hair.
I'm completely baffled - never had this happen with a dog before.
She's mostly pit and has short fur.
