Mary......
Tragedy struck regarding my pitbull...there were two stray cats fighting in my six foot fenced yard that the cats crawled thru from the wire squares.... both my pitbull and little moppet dog got excited and I opened the door to see what was there and my pitbull rushed out and caught one of the cats and killed it.....strange twist of events here.....I initially thougth he killed my cat, I was numbfounded, I loved that cat .... I put the cat in a plastic bag until I was ready to bury her the following day as it was 6am.... At 8am I went outside to bury the cat and lo and behold my cat ambly walked right up to me....... I was out of my pants , miracle !! but that poor cat that was killed really saddened me , I love cats dearly....the dead cat looked exactly like mine , long haired grey/ green, incidently another twist; what if that dead cat was my cats twin sister who was lost three years ago, I rushed to the plastic bag and the cat inside was not her as it had a longer snout and longer ears ....sigh what a horrible experience watching my own beloved dog kill this cat.. Now my pitbull loves my own cat and little dog, he has grown up with them since he was two months old when i got [/color]him , he does not take nicely to strange dogs or cats ,squirrels or other strange creatures,,,, he is not people aggressive, he loves people but when someone come s inside my house, he loves to have their attenton but he jumps on them playfully , nips their hand , I consider this love bitting but some people say the dog bit them ,I disclaim that as a playful nip to my dog being hyper in greeting/ welcoming people, how can I train my dog to be nice to other animals outside the family.... he is a wonderful dog but like all dogs chasing cats , its a normal trait but i think he could be trained and how can I make him be nicer to other dogs...... I keep thinking about the right thing to do , if he continues to be be aggressive , its euthanzia but I absoluely persih that thought I love this dog so much so if there is a way to train the aggressiveness out of him to satisfaction than all will be well... he is 3 years old now
