www.babycenter.com/top-baby-names-2011 I thought this was interesting. Popular names have changed so much since I wuz considering them. Interesting that Emily is still in the top ten. Two names and variations thereof that were everywhere for a decade or so...Alexander and Alexandra-Alex/Alexandria/Alexa. I'd call "Alex come on!!!!!" and all these little heads would look up together. Two others that come to mind-Benjamin and Jacob...during some school terms the bulletin boards would have Benjamin G. and Benjamin C. and Ben F. and the Jacobs the same way. I picked baby names after people I admired, ones I hoped couldn't be used for teasing. My name is Leslie, unusual back in the day with a school full of budding Jersey Shore kids. Eventually it turned into "Leslie is a lezzie!!!!". I wasn't terribly butch, just awkward and I didn't have any idea what lezzie meant anyway... So I used classic names for my kids, not trendy, no fanciful spellings-David, Elizabeth, Alexandra, Daniel and Emily

My daughter's name is right in the middle. Not too common, and not too unusual. Perfect Sent with my rooted Nook Tablet using the Proboards App for Android

I chickened out when I named my daughter, Megan. I wanted something different, but failed. She is named after my mother (margret) I had a hard time finding a name for my second kid. I had the boy name ready to go! Flipping though a baby name book I saw Erin, with the meaning of peace (along w/ ireland etc) and something else, with an alternate spelling of Aryn. I ripped the page out of the book, and it's now in her baby baby. My sister didn't chicken out, so her son is named Karac. (sounds like derick) Her daughter is named Summer.

YAY Elliot still not in the top 100. Elijah and Eli are though but Elliot isn't as popular. although I do have 2 friends who have kids of the same name.

Oh and anybody who's expecting and can't decide on a name even at the last minute...I was at the mall flipping through baby name books-while I was in early labor-yes, I managed to get to the hospital before she flew into the world...but that's how long it takes to pick a name sometimes. Even knew people who couldn't decide until they met their little bundle.

LOL, I grew up going to school with kids named Eroide, Lakita, Yelissa, Ayanna, Kashif...etc. My own name is Kaleena. There were only ever like one Nancy and one Jennifer. Guess it all depends were you come from,
