...well not like in the old days...now you have media "personalities" like Charlie Sheen and Lindsey Lohan...if they came from average families they be put away somewhere for a long time by now.
The enviroment I grew up in you stayed on the happy side of the law. My parents maybe got parking tickets once or twice, getting arrested was UNTHINKABLE.
Now in my time, heck even now I feel they should legalize certain medicinal herbs. Amsterdam has it's tea shops and a way low crime rate, its all good if it's structured right.
...and maybe there were times when I should have gotten pulled off the road as a teen that I wasn't...seeing four or five lines in the road, not good, but DUI laws weren't so strict and if you lived in a good part of town and were halfway decent looking, the men in blue would tell ya to just get on home...but finally by my early twenties and parenthood there were no more chemicals at all. It's only in recent years a drink here and there. Nothing wild
So maybe I should understand someone close to me...but I don't. It's an issue too personal for me for a public thread but anyone is welcome to PM me and share, commiserate...someone close to you being in and out of jail, things like puking and cutting and some other scary stuff beyond reason...Yeah maybe we were rebellious too but not to the same degree...
...one of the things they told me at one time " I wouldn't be sorry if Ophie died"...the same month that two gerbils and a whole fish tank mysteriously kicked the bucket...the gas being left on...really scary stuff. They don't live here now but they don't go away either...when they need to make bail, need whatever THEN they call and try to play on your sympathy and ya just can't do it
...and ya remember them before they got the way they are now and know they can't magically go back...all you can do for yourself is go forward, without them...and it's sooo hard sometimes, but life goes on...know I'm not the only one...peac e out
