  Red nose pitt - 10 months old....very energetic...crate trained...rehousing fee...Great dog very obediant but we are expecting our first child and don't feel that we can give him all the atention that he has been used too. PItts have a bad reputation, we are looking for someone who will treat him as good as we have. He is nuetered as well. PLease contact if interested. harrisburg.craigslist.org/pet/2833681791.htmlI know everyone hates dealing with owner surrenders, but please let me know if there is anything anyone can do for this dog. He looks so much like Benny that it took my breath away and Tim even thought it was him for a second. I can't help him because he is not an AmStaff and we already have 3 dogs in STCARC care that need homes. I have to go to work now, but I'm going to contact the individual that put up the ad for more info. |

Wow...he really does look like Benny. Seeing look-a-likes can be tough :/ Brings back so many memories. Look-a-likes are very rough to handle, they pull at your heart-strings. I just wish people would think things through before adopting. Its always the dog that suffers. |

Maybe just help them to keep him. Maybe suggest they list him on PBRC instead.

When I showed Tim the pictures I didn't tell him what/who they were of, he stared at them for a long time and then said, "It's not him," almost in a questioning tone. I said, "No, it's not. This dog is only 10 months old." Tim looked at the pictures again, paused and said, "Wow. He really looks like him." He really does.   I sent several links about raising children with dogs and Pit Bulls specifically. I also gave them PBRC's link and the link to a few PA rescues/advocacy groups. I hope they will be receptive to my email. |

Did you start the email with what a beautiful dog he is and how you know they must be devastated to have to give them up. etc etc. Making them feel good not putting them down for their decision. If you did they will likely be receptive.

OMG he does! One has to look very closely to see any difference!
I once saw an Ivan lookalike at a dog event, so much like him I actually startled and lost my composure. It didn't help that it was only months after he passed.

Yeah I was really taken aback when I saw it. Took a couple of seconds for me to come out of it. They haven't responded yet, but it was pretty late when I sent it and not everyone checks their email every day like I do. I hope they can find him a suitable home if they are intent on giving him up.

A couple months or so before Cleveland came back, I saw a video online of some rescued dogs. One of them looked a lot like Cleveland, so much that I almost got sick. I had to watch the video a couple time to be sure it wasn't him. Later there was another video that showed a full body shot, the dog was a lot smaller than Cleveland.

They never responded to my email or an email that I sent from a different address asking if he was still available. I hope he found a good home.
