Adopted a rescue dog out of Life4Paws - Lita, 15wks, spayed, 'mixed blue nose/red nose' (not particularly relevant to me).
She was fostered with other dogs and cats, and joins a household with two cats and a Rottweiler. Fancy, the rott, has a very laid-back, sharing temperment (she doesn't hoard food, toys, or us around other dogs) and Lita's foster family say she is the most mellow of the litter.
Still we have precautions in case tensions grow-- separate areas of the house they are allowed access, and a crate for Lita.
Here to see other people's experiences and make sure that Lita gets absolutely the best life that we can provide.

Good for you to keep it separate areas and crates. You are already setting up for success to have the best life for all. Lita will learn to love her crate and love you for it. Looking forward to seeing photos of your pet family.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on rescuing your new pup! Ditto to Carolann's comments. You're definitely starting out on the right track with being cautious and keeping Lita crated when you can't supervise. Lots of great info and discussions on this forum for you to browse through, and of course we will all do our best to answer any questions.
