We heat our house with a wood stove, so we constantly have a pile of firewood in our living room. The thing is, Bella has taken a liking to it and eats it, literally. I've looked this up and researched it and know that it is horrible for her. So, my question is, what is a good way to get her to stop doing this? At the time, we've started stacking the wood on our porch, we've tryed spraying it with bad tasting/smelling stuff, verbally correcting her, she has cut back quite a bit, but I'm terrified one day she will eat that one piece that hurts her. Help!
Thanks in advance for your help.

It sounds as though if she access to it she will eat it. My dog will do the same. Is there any way you can block it off put a gate around it or something? I know it might be a pain but at least you will not have to constantly worry.

So far with the wood on the porch she seems to be doing well, I just hope she hasn't already ingested some. Scares me silly.

All 5 of my dogs eat wood. Any kind. We have chicken wire all around our trees and they are never allowed on our deck unsupervised as they have destroyed the steps. Never let her out of your sight for one and possibly remove the wood? It's a hard thing to get a dog to stop. Dogs love to chew!!

WOW eating the deck crazy pooches. My moms dog started chewing the molding in the house. She tried spraying bitter apple stuff. Did not work. SO now she leaves brooms and vacuum near the spots she chewed. She does not like the brooms and vacuum so she wont go near it. Dog that lived in the house before started it and I guess Aura found it and thought good idea.
