I've checked a couple of homes of people interested in Ellie. The first one was a no go because they were free feeders of crap dog food. The second one was a no go because they let their Min Pin run out the door barking like mad, hackles raised, to greet me and Ellie.
Petty? Maybe. Today she is meeting a family with no other pets, and 4 school aged kids. I hope this one works out, she deserves to have a home that fits her needs. I think she'll be happy being the center of attention. Maybe she'll grow to no longer feel like she has to protect her food with no other dogs around.

She doesn't protect/guard it from humans. She'll let you take it from her, feed her by hand, etc. with no issues. She doesn't like another dog near her while she eats anything. She will growl, and if you are eating and all dogs are present she starts getting weird. So, she eats in her crate, and if anyone is eating, and dogs are present, she's crated. But since we're on crate/rotate if she is 'free' the other dogs are in another room. But she is still crated if we're eating, and so are the other dogs.

Well, she's off! She now lives with a family of 4 kids, mom and dad. The kids are home schooled, so I know Ellie will get plenty of attention. The kids were respectful, but very excited. Ellie was excited too. I feel good about this home.

And this will certainly relieve some of the stress in your house.

The house is already a lot calmer. Wrinkles has had more sofa time, and she'll be able to sleep w/ Aryn now.

Oh cool for Ellie. But please go slow with Wrinkles. Bed with Aryn might be a bit much so soon.

Wrinkles already cat naps with aryn on the sofa. Aryn won't sleep in her room anymore due to nightmares about her cat. Ellie was sleeping with her on the sofa, and the other dogs were / are with me in my room. Wrinkles, Winston, and Cleveland will not be spending any time together. I am far too paranoid about possible dog fight because Cleveland is being a jerk.
