Quick Question:
Capone is 8 weeks old and when he gets hurt (bola nips him a little too hard, you acciedently step on his tail, you acciedently touch where he got shots) he throws a fit.....growling, snapping etc.
What do I do to correct this?

He is young and still learning. Nice of him to be polite and growl first before snapping. I'm not so sure it is actually something you want to correct. Seems he has good reason to be giving a signal of uncomfortable. But then again This would be for an adult dog. Im not too sure how it would be handled with a young pup. Hopefully someone who has had a puppy this young can chime in.

does he do this all the time when this happens? pups that do this the most tend to be more DA when they mature... pups that respect an elder dog who corrects or does something by accident wont act this way.. be prepared for this pup to be DA as he matures and gets older... dont be surprised if as Capone gets older if Bola corrects him Capone decides to respond by trying to kick Bolas ass....

Capone has done this once to Bola...he mainly has done it to Avery (she stepped on his tail, then acciedently touched his sore shoulder a couple times).
Hes a really good pup....just sassy when he gets hurt. I wasnt sure if I should start NILF or just ignore it or what to do.

i would do strict nilif now, and have avery feed him, walk him, and do nilif with him( i know she is young but she can do alot of the simple stuff like tell him sit to eat, etc...)

Oh yeah with Avery is different. Yes NILIF and her feeding him with a strict schedule and giving commands. When ROcky was a pup he was a bit of a fresh boy with my son.

Ok. Sounds good. Is it ok to have him eat out of her hands? NILF is in full affect! Thanks for the help!

that would be a great way to teach! have avery feed him every bit of food by hand, make him work for it, teach sit, down, heel, using his food as the treats.. he doesnt work, he doesnt eat... he will learn fast that to do stuff will earn him his meals.... let him see Avery as the Keeper of the food/praise etc....
