Late yesterday afternoon, someone brought a little (maybe 4mo) Pit Mix pup who had been hit by a car in one of the towns the shelter serves. I've taken on financial responsibility to see him through his crisis. He is currently at one of the local emergency vet hospitals. He's a little red brindle guy. I've named him Paulie in honor of Pablo, but he actually reminds me more of Baby Beth temperament-wise, though that may be because he was in shock when I met him. (Hey, Baby Beth was one of the sweetest dogs I've ever known, but if Pablo was gifted, Beth could charitably be called "cheerfully oblivious"!!! ;D) Anyway, he has confirmed fractures of the radius and ulna in one forelimb, several broken ribs, bruised lungs and now there is fear that one of his hips may be broken. Brutal. But he's hanging in there. Can't go home till tomorrow at the earliest. Will be arranging a foster situation for him ASAP. Will visit him this afternoon. Maybe get a pic. Stay tuned!
