I really went back on fourth on this one, considering four other Pit Bulls (2 male, 2 female) and a seniorish male Beagle. But then I met Paula (my name for her!) and the deal was sealed. Perfect temp with both people and other dogs, not too big, middle aged dog. And a fairly striking resemblance to old Pablo! www.petfinder.com/petdetail/23098322 |

Oh, most of the ones I was looking at were more "reform school" kids. But after having lost sweet, gentle Winnie and gentlemanly Pablo, I decided I needed a break from the grind of integrating dogs with attitude. But a middle aged Pit Bull who was used as breeding machine is not exactly likely to go fast. So I'm not "wasting" a rescue on a dog with good adoption prospects. So Paula it is! I did the paperwork today. I'll actually bring her home tomorrow. I only worked half a day today, but am too wiped out for any extra dog work tonight. Tomorrow is a new day!

She is so cute, John! I love her! Great name, too Many a moon ago, you noted that Pablo's visible sclera gave him and extra intelligent look. She has the same thing! Of course, Pablo really was on the doggy Hi-Q team. We'll see about Paula! ANd let the foible watch begin! Paula is heavy into peanut butter and nesting. |
