I was contacted yet again by a rescue in Sioux Falls, Ia. about another pit bull. This makes the 3rd dog from them, and the 4th in less than two weeks. One of them has moved to her forever home. The other has had NO leads what so ever. Now this guy showed up in my inbox today. I was seriously upset when I read it. He gets along great with kids and other dogs, including Sahara, the other pit bull they have. He is 3 yrs old, intact, and not house trained. Gentle, affectionate, and mellow. Seriously how could you give up such a fantastic dog to a place that he may not make it out of alive? He's on the urgent list of course.

I cant even look at his face in the first picture. He clearly looks to feel very sad and confused. Poor boy. I hope he gets out of there.

Not really. Jane had an inquiry the other day but I haven't heard anything.
Jane did say that Sahara and Listo are on a long waiting list for Sioux Empire, so maybe the shelter won't put them down.

He's handsome! Which shelter is he at? Hopefully Sioux Empire can take him.

He's in Siouxland Humane Society's shelter in Sioux City. Oh, somebody had told me they are no kill. I assume that isn't the case. I can only assume that he isn't a registered dog in the city, either. Sent from my DROID BIONIC using ProBoards

Jane has told me in the past concerning 2 other dogs(pit bull, possible pit mix), that we can't keep them indefinitely. etc. She's not said it, but she's eluded to it.
This is from their page: What happens to animals that are not adopted? We make every effort to find a home for each animal we receive – this is reflected in our adoption rate which is higher than the national average. Sadly, though, adoption is not always possible. When the number of incoming animals exceeds our space, some animals must be euthanized. Those chosen to "make room" have often been in our shelter for a long time and are determined to be less likely to be adopted in the future.
I'm guessing the pit bulls are the first to go since they're hardest to adopt out in a bsl area. And, no Listo and Sahara are not registered.

That's very sad ! Our no kill shelter here has the same frame of mind. No Kill doesn't mean it doesn't put dogs down.
They will release the pit bulls to rescues only. Unfotunately, fosers and rescues are filled to the max. It is truly heart wrentching and heart breaking !
