This is Peachy. My brother and his friends rescued him from being PTS at a high kill shelter and they are now looking for a forever home for him in Northwestern Connecticut (or somewhere nearby). Peachy is medium sized (probably about 50 pounds) about a year and a half old and unaltered. He is super friendly, loves to play with other dogs and is good with kids. Please reply to this post or PM me for more information or if you have any rehoming suggestions. (I do not have Peachy in my care, he is with my brother and his friends.) My brother and his friends have big hearts, but they didn't really think this through. They don't know where he is going to stay tonight. I have a feeling that my brother will sneak him into my parents' basement (which is where my his room is) or one of his friends will do something similar. I really wish I could take him into the STCARC, but they aren't taking dogs in, atm (which is annoying and lame). I would take him in myself, if I could get him up here and if I could get Tim to let me bring another animal into our tiny apartment. I feel like I SHOULD be able to help my brother help this dog and I'm annoyed and a bit upset that I can't do anything other than crosspost. Please let me know if you have any suggestions on how to help this dog or if you know anyone in the CT area who is looking for a young dog! Thanks, all! P.S. If you want to crosspost Peachy, here is the link to my FB post about him: www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=3831627264251&set=a.1284623870758.2040609.1084950136&type=1&theater

did he ask your parents if he can foster him? btw is he leaving for college soon? looks like brother is following in your footsteps LOL. I will crosspost. Sadly with all the people that know of my love for the breed I have never had anyone ask me if I know of any dogs looking for a home.

I doubt he asked permission and he will be leaving for school next week. I think one of his friends isn't going to college, so I guess Peachy might stay with him. I don't think he really thought it through! Hopefully one of his friends is looking for a dog or knows someone who is. I'm proud that he cares so much, but I hope they can figure something out for Peachy! Thank you for sharing on your FB, let me know if you get any bites!

I think Saxon's page is public, most of his likes aren't friends of mine.

My dad is going to agility show this weekend in CT. I asked him to spread the word but he said if it is not a border collie, aussie or cattle dog it is unlikely anyone will have an interest. If it was one of those they would be transporting asap where ever. But you never know, it was worth a shot.

What I am hoping for though is that one of the boys gets to keep the dog.

Thank, CA. I talked to my mom, too, and she said he was really sweet, but really thin. Poor guy! Sam said that they are meeting with a potential new owner this weekend. I told him what to look for and what to ask and he is already looking into speuter clinics in the area. Oh, and apparently the dogs name is pronounced Pesh-ee, not Peachy, he just didn't know how to spell it, lol. I hope it works out with the potential home! I'll keep you all posted.

For their program you also have to be owner of the dog. Maybe check with AFF too as they granted the program.

A young woman adopted him and she seemed perfect in every way, until her mom came home and found a dog that she didn't approve of in her home. So they took him back. My brother left for college on Wednesday and it looked like his friend might just keep Peachy/Peshie. He didn't know for sure. I'll ask him to ask his friend again tomorrow.
